Clesana power management.
For easy retrofitting with extra self-sufficiency.
The Clesana power management is a combination of a relay and a DC/DC charger. In combination with a buffer battery, the Clesana power management enables a simplified electrical installation of the Clesana C1.
The best travel companion, on short and long journeys alike.
Clesana is the perfect solution for a spontaneous short trip, too. The toilet can be used easily and effortlessly even for a single visit. Once the film liner has been inserted and the power supply is ensured, the Clesana toilet remains ready for use at all times. As soon as the toilet lid is opened, the system automatically switches from standby mode to normal operation – even after a long period of standstill.

Frequently asked questions.
Good to know.
Does the C1 fit in my vehicle?
The C1’s footprint is compatible with the most common cassette toilets and can be retrofitted with the L-adapter or placed freely with the round base. Do the free installation check to be sure.
How much power does the C1 need?
Very little: from just 10 Ah of a LiFePO4 battery you can seal up to 100 bags. With the power management, it can be operated particularly autonomously.
What do the liners cost during ongoing use?
Calculate per toilet visit rather than per bag: a pack of liners lasts for an average of 80 bags. One visit costs approx. 31 cents. It becomes even cheaper with Super-absorber, liquid insert und mit dem Anti-slip.
Do I need chemicals or fresh water?
No. The C1 works completely without water, without chemicals and without sanitary additives – which makes it independent of disposal stations.
Wie ist es um Service und Garantie bestellt?
Every C1 is individually tested 100% in Switzerland. In the event of service, we offer fast repair and replacement across Europe. Details on the warranty can be found in the product information. With the warranty extension we offer an additional six months of warranty.
Does the toilet only work with a voltage of 12 volts?
No, the input voltage can be 12 volts. For higher voltages of 110–240 V, a power supply unit is required.
Can the toilet also be operated with 220/230 V mains voltage?
This type of operation requires a validated power supply unit. We have validated a power supply unit for longer-term operation with 220/230 V mains voltage. You can find it here..
How stable is the toilet?
The load capacity of the toilet with the lid closed is 150 kg (seated person).
Can toilets other than the common Thetford models C260/C220 also be converted?
Yes. In general, all makes and types can be converted. The respective installation situation determines the complexity and the effort required for the conversion. Thanks to its identical footprint, the Thetford C260/C220 can be easily converted using the L-adapter.
In general, the round base can also be used to position the C1; the service opening must then be sealed separately. The right point of contact for planning the conversion is your trusted specialist workshop. Using the technical drawings on the Clesana website in the “Info area”, the conversion can be planned in the best possible way and the effort estimated. For any changes to shower trays, we are currently in talks with specialist workshops and will announce these contacts before the start of series production. This is particularly relevant for bench toilets and all makes that are recessed into the shower tray at floor level.
Can the toilet be used flexibly?
The C1 was designed to be permanently fixed to the floor. Other types of fastening affect stability and, depending on the installation, also the function of the toilet.
What is the service life of the toilet?
All visible parts are made of ABS, and all load-bearing and force-transmitting components of glass-fibre reinforced plastic. When developing the sealing unit, we relied on commercially available components that have already been thoroughly proven on the market. Accordingly, the service life of both the plastic components and the sealing unit corresponds to the current state of the art. Only the Teflon bands are wear parts. Their coating begins to degrade after approx. 1,500 cycles. We currently have C1 toilets on the test bench that have completed over 12,000 cycles without mechanical defects of the sealing unit.
Do I have to seal (“flush”) after every use of the toilet?
The most hygienically safe way to use the C1 is to seal the contents after every use. You can also use the toilet several times without triggering the sealing. However, you must watch the maximum fill level of the bag (toilet paper should not protrude). Likewise, too much content can pull the bag down under its own weight. This should be avoided where possible. Film that is pulled down cannot be detected by the system and may therefore lead to an incorrect display of the remaining cycles.
How much does the Clesana C1 cost, and what does operation cost?
The current RRPs can be viewed at clesana.com/UVP.
On average, 40 bags can be produced per film liner.
that means 80 bags per pack of film liners.
From this, the price per bag can easily be calculated. In addition, the super absorber, liquid insert or anti-slip can be used to further minimise operating costs.
